I hope you are having a great end to the semester. As we wrap up the year, I have been reflecting on our IU South Bend 2030 plan progress, and want to highlight some of our collective accomplishments in this first year:
- The launch of , a new early intervention program providing select first-year students with support over their first two years. Titan Teams consist of a success coach, first-year seminar faculty, and peer mentors who work together to help students succeed.
- The creation of the Center for Undergraduate Advising, located on the first floor of the Administration Building and staffed by professional advisors.
- The launch of , a year-long pilot program of monthly interactions that will provide high school graduates taking a “gap year” with a range of opportunities that include job-shadowing, mentor guidance, and on-campus experiences.
- The creation of an Office of Professional Engagement to increase internships and career learning.
- The creation of a Hispanic Serving Institution Steering Committee to support our efforts to become a Hispanic Serving Institution.
- Launch of the at IU South Bend, providing underrepresented and first-generation students academic, financial, and social support for attaining a bachelor’s degree.
- Renovation of Parkside Hall into the Dwyer Healthcare Simulation Center, which will provide state-of-the-art training facilities for nursing and radiography students in 2024.
- Hiring an inaugural Director for .
