Thanks to all who attended the Welcome Back for Faculty and Staff last week. It was so great to welcome those new to campus into the Titan Family and to celebrate our accomplishments. For anyone who missed my remarks, the presentation can be found here, along with our 2023-2024 year in review slideshow. Many thanks to all who submitted photos, and to all who made last year such a success!
A particularly popular announcement shared at last week’s welcome back is that starting September 1, the will be free to use for faculty and staff. I hope you will check out their offerings and use this amazing campus resource!
As you have likely seen, the search has begun for the next Chancellor of IU South Bend. A has been established where you can learn more about the search committee and search process. On Wednesday, September 11 IU Southeast Chancellor Debbie Ford, the chair of the search committee, will be joined by Steve Leo and Brian Bustin from Storbeck Search to facilitate listening sessions to get a better sense of what type of candidate you seek as the next Chancellor. There will be an open forum for staff from 9:00am to 10:00am and an open forum for faculty from 3:00pm to 4:00pm, both in the Student Activities Center Room 221-225. Please come to open forums prepared to discuss the following questions:
- What should prospective candidates find most appealing about the role of Chancellor at IU South Bend?
- What do you see as the key challenges and opportunities to be addressed by the next Chancellor?
- What are the skill sets, experiences, and personal attributes most needed in the candidate of choice?
To close out this message I wanted to share one of my favorite photos from last week – our incoming class forming an IU Titan trident. Thanks to all who made Titan Takeoff for our new students so memorable this year.
