August 6, 2023
Greetings,
Thanks to all who attended the Welcome Back for Faculty and Staff last week. It was so great to see everyone, to welcome new faculty and staff to our community, and to celebrate our accomplishments. For anyone who missed my Welcome Back Address, the presentation can be found here, along with our 2022-2023 Year in Review video. Many thanks to Joel Langston and Michael Caterina for their videography and photography contributions, and to all who made last year such a success!
We welcomed new faculty and staff, had a beautiful performance from the IU South Bend’s Meadowlarks choral ensemble, and celebrated those who won awards, including the inaugural Top 25 Titans. We have such a wonderful community of amazing and dedicated faculty and staff! To continue to develop our community, we also provided some inspiration in the form of Positive Potatoes. What is a Positive Potato? Just ask someone who was there. I also previewed the priorities for the year, which include maintaining momentum on our financial sustainability initiatives and moving forward with our IU 2030 goals.
Many thanks to those who have already begun working to turn our IU 2030 plan into reality. We have many exciting and impactful priorities that I know will continue to propel us well into the future. I look forward to working with the Campus Directions Committee to share progress with you throughout the year. For details, check out IU South Bend 2030.
We have a lot to look forward to this year, and while census is still a few days away, I am excited about our incoming class and look forward to sharing more with you next week. As always, thank you for helping our new and returning Titans get off to a great start this year.
