Greetings, Titans. I want to thank you for your continued perseverance in the face of this pandemic. We are on the home stretch of the semester, but not quite out of the woods on the viral outbreak. Despite the immense pressures and uncertainties we have faced, thank you to everyone who has stepped up to meet the challenges head on. I continue to be impressed with how resilient the IU South Bend community has proven to be. The health and safety of our community remains a top priority as we bring this unparalleled semester to a close. Best of luck on final exams and projects, and congratulations to our graduating seniors!
Now is the time to stay the course: IU’s stay at home policy is still in full effect, and will continue to be until President McRobbie announces otherwise. Unless it’s absolutely essential, do not come to campus. Though we’ve been isolating at home for weeks, campus is not a place to come to change up your surroundings or get some alone time away from others in your household. If you need a change of scenery, take a walk, go on a hike, ride your bike, or enjoy other outdoor activities. Click to learn more from our own experts on how to continue to stay safe, sane, and healthy while we continue to work and learn remotely. The South Bend Tribune provided some suggestions for peaceful locations to visit , including some mindfulness videos from IU South Bend’s own Student Counseling Center.
Trips to campus should only be for essential functions that cannot be performed in a remote work or learning environment. If a trip is necessary, please limit the time you spend on campus, wear a face covering, practice social distancing, and wash your hands frequently. We continue to make cleaning and disinfecting campus spaces a priority, but we hope you will continue to stay at home until further notice.
If you are a soon-to-be graduate, a faculty or staff member navigating a new work environment, or a student planning your summer and fall courses, IU South Bend is committed to your success. We are stronger together than we are separately and it is the power of our IU South Bend community that will help us emerge on the other side of this pandemic crisis stronger than we were before.
