Dear Colleagues,
I am happy to share that power has been restored to campus. Many thanks to our Facilities team and many others across campus who helped us during the outage.
Last week was an exciting one for IU South Bend. We had the honor of hosting South Bend Mayor James Mueller’s State of the City Address in Joshi Hall and celebrated our undergraduate student research at the Indiana Statehouse as part of . Congratulations to all our students and their faculty mentors who were selected for this event.
Help Retain Students for Fall 2025
The fall 2025 open enrollment period began on March 28th. Please encourage students you meet in classes, office visits, events, and other settings to enroll. Emphasize the importance of scheduling advising appointments and direct them to follow the steps outlined at iusb.edu/advising. Providing guidance and facilitating the enrollment process for continuing students before the summer break is essential to ensuring they remain on course for timely graduation.
Admitted Student Calling Campaign
During April and May, we will be holding a calling campaign as part of our continued enrollment efforts. The focus of these calls is to engage admitted students who have yet to commit to attending IU South Bend, helping to answer their questions and share what makes IU South Bend a special place. A personal call from a faculty or staff member demonstrates to the prospective students the strong sense of community that we share as Titans. It may also be just the nudge that student needs to make the decision to attend IU South Bend. Those volunteering to make calls will be provided with a caseload of students and talking point resources. Please let us know if you are interested in . You can sign up to make as few or as many calls as your schedule allows.
Commencement Participation
I hope you will join us for IU South Bend’s 2025 Commencement ceremony on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at the Joyce Center at Notre Dame. The ceremony is scheduled for 7:00 p.m., with the procession to begin at 6:30 p.m.
Faculty, please for the ceremony. If you do not have your own regalia, we will provide you with regalia that you can by Monday, April 7.
Staff members, we would love for you to join us in helping celebrate our students. Those interested in volunteering for the ceremony can email Interim Special Events Coordinator, Stephen Salisbury at stsalisb@iu.edu.
Thank you all for helping make the ceremony a special experience for our students. Seeing the proud students and families at commencement always serves as a great reminder of why we put in all the hard work throughout the year. Please come join in the celebration.
