In response to the Coronavirus outbreak, IU South Bend urges everyone to practice smart health behaviors and self-care. Wash hands frequently and don’t touch your face. If you don’t have access to soap and water, use a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol. If you feel ill, stay home and call your health provider, a local urgent care center, or IUSB’s Health and Wellness Center at 574-520-5557 Monday- Thursday, 8-12 noon and 1-4 p.m.
IU Health has a virtual screening tool available 24/7 .
It is strongly recommended that you call your health provider before physically going to the facility first to make sure you receive the correct care and information about your situation to reduce chances of spreading infection.
Faculty and supervisors are instructed to follow existing policies for accommodating student and employee absences due to illness and to be as flexible as reasonably possible. It is important for everyone to remain calm and use the resources we have to appropriately assess health and risk situations.
