In response to the Coronavirus outbreak, we have formed an IUSB incident management team that meets daily to prepare for and respond to local campus concerns. The team consists of Cabinet leaders in academic and student affairs, UITS and administration and finance, as well as leaders from emergency management, communications, human resources, and public safety. This group is reviewing information and guidance from IU as well as local concerns and situations for actions we need to take to ensure the health and safety of our students, staff, faculty and community.
Today, I will be sending several messages to the campus community with guidance regarding travel, staying healthy and what to do if you or someone in your family is exposed or becomes ill, and other major topics of concern. We will continue to send regular updates to the campus community as issues emerge. Please also look for continued communications from IU and visit often for updates and answers to frequently asked questions.
This is a rapidly evolving situation and we are monitoring it closely. The health and safety of our students, staff, faculty and community are our top priority. I want to thank everyone for your patience and flexibility during this challenging time as we work to keep everyone healthy and safe but also continue to offer our classes and academic programs so students can complete the Spring semester and graduate on time.
